In my practice I focus on 4 lifestyle diseases and 1 hope. Diabetes type 2, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, insulin resistance and prevention. Reducing inflammation helps with each of these. So how can we reduce are inflammation? There are many ways but today I am going to give you 3 doable tips that if implemented.

  1. Cut out or reduce sugary beverages. I know I know! I am all for the crowding out method. Where we focus on what we can add to improve our health instead of what we should stop or cut back on. BUT, Sugar causes an inflammatory response in the body. Swapping out sugary drinks could be a huge step in the right direction.
  2. Eat your veggies. Often we have inflammation because we aren’t getting enough veggies in. (Think rainbow eating, red apple, green spinach).
  3. Drink 1/2 of your body weight in ounces of water. (this is on average) Dehydration causes inflammation. (and most headaches!)

Swap out sugary beverages, add more rainbow colored veggies and get your water in. Excellent baby steps on the path to your health!

It is a lie that living healthfully is hard, boring, full of restrictions and gross food. With improved health you feel better in your body, your mood can shift for the better. Aches and pains reduced and/or eliminated! Improved energy to do the things you want to do. It can even improve our passion for life. What are you waiting for?

Feeding your body mind and spirit healthy nutrition. Remembering nutrition can come from things other than food, like learning, sunshine, fun, laughter etc.!

What’s your baby step this week? Let me know! I would love to hear.
